"Who cares?"
Perseus didn't care about him at all. After all, he had reached his goal.
Then, he went upstairs to Liam's personal intensive care unit.
Liam's complexion had improved, yet he showed no signs of regaining consciousness. His heartbeat and blood pressure had even dropped a little.
Looking at Liam's condition, Alfred frowned. "Mr. Caitford, what condition does he have? His skin is so pale, but it looks shriveled. It's lost all its elasticity, and his breathing is barely there."
Alfred had seen Liam before. He had once been a chubby, fair-skinned young man. Now, he looked drained and withered, as if all the life had been sucked out of him.
Perseus didn't give him a direct answer. Instead, he asked, "What condition do you think he has? Why do you think he's become like this?"
Alfred no longer rushed to answer Perseus. Instead, he observed Liam like Perseus would. He checked his pulse and pulled his eyelids back to examine them. He even used the stethoscope on him.
