"Make the payment," Perseus said calmly. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
Zachary burst into laughter. "Are you kidding me? What payment? Do I owe you money?"
"Are you refusing to pay?" Perseus frowned, but there was no anger in his voice.
"That's right, I'm refusing payment." Zachary scoffed. "Consider it a little secret—I have the means, but I won't pay a dime. What are you going to do about it?"
Deciding on a direct approach, Zachary pointed at Perseus. "You're just Faith's lackey. How dare you speak to me like that? Get out!"
"Are you absolutely sure you won't make the payment?" Perseus remained calm. However, the frown was replaced now by an enigmatic smile.
His smile was unsettling, but Zachary couldn't decipher its meaning.
"I—"
Before Zachary could finish his threat, Perseus slammed his hand down on the desk, fingers spread wide.
