"You can go now." Perseus then parked the car at the gate and entered the house.
Tom slowly straightened, realizing his back was completely soaked with sweat.
"How strong is he?" Tom murmured.
Perseus' single stare had almost brought him to his knees, begging for mercy.
Tom was a hardened man, no stranger to ruthless acts and bloody scenes. But in Perseus' presence, he felt the specter of death.
"I can't afford to offend him. I'd better get started on his task." Tom soon left.
"Dad, Mom, why haven't you rested yet? It's already late."
Entering the living room, Perseus realized that his parents hadn't gone to bed. They had covered the windows with thick newspapers to deter loan sharks. That was why he hadn't seen any light from outside.
