Even after his client arrived, Tobias couldn’t focus on the meeting. His eyes continuously and unconsciously strayed towards Amara’s table, watching every now and then as she interacted with Elijah.
When she smiled at the other man, Tobias would frown and when Elijah reached out to touch her in some way, to which Amara willingly allowed him, Tobias would feel the pit of his stomach burn red with anger.
Why was she with him? Now, Tobias knew that as the stranger Amara dimmed him, he had no right o question who she was seeing or being in contact with, but at the same time, he didn’t like seeing Elijah around Amara.
Something about the man screamed threat to Tobias. What the threat was about, he didn’t know, but still didn’t like it. And each time he saw the two interact, his glare would intensify, breaking the surface of his once stoic mask little by little.
