Amara reminded silent the entire drive home. Although she seemed silent on the outside, her mind was running a thousand miles a second.
Thoughts and questions popped up in her mind and her brain constantly replayed the chandelier falling. Each time she recalled that moment, she’d shiver silently at the thought of passing by death’s door.
Then she’d recall how Tobias had saved her. How she felt in his body and how safe she had felt for those few seconds and she’d curse herself for even entertaining such thoughts.
He wasn’t someone she should be thinking about. He tried to harm her, for crying out loud!
But even though Amara knew this, a little part of her still dabbled with the thought of Tobias being innocent.
Perhaps it was that part of her that still loved Tobias- the part of her that was fading far too slowly for her liking.
“Amara,” The sound of Elijah’s voice pulled Amara out of her thought. It was then she realized he had parked outside her house. “We’re here.”
