Chapter 1926
The voice was faintly restrained yet tinged with helplessness. It was clearly still the same voice, but for some reason, it made Shannon's body stiffen slightly.
Her mind seemed to go blank for a moment, and she stared at the person in front of her. It was still the same person.
Somehow, something felt different.
Her fingers tightened, and she instinctively clenched her fist.
She stared at the person before her for a long while, and only then did she seem to find her voice again, asking, "B-Benjamin?"
She was hesitant and unsure, which was unlike her usual demeanor.
Shannon still remembered experiencing the same feeling—an illusion—in Antique Village. Back then, she tentatively called out for Benjamin, only to receive his silence.
That silence confirmed to her that she had misrecognized him yet again.
Perhaps the so-called familiarity was an illusion stemming from her anticipation. She feared that this would be yet another disappointment.
"Benjamin?" she called out again.
