Sophie finally managed to fasten her seatbelt, and after struggling to adapt to the speed, the car suddenly made a sharp turn. She was thrown against the right door, her face pressing against the window, contorting her features.
With a look of panic, she turned to Jasper, wanting to plead for him to slow down. But there he was, sitting steadily, not even raising an eyebrow. His sharp, cold profile showed he wasn't the type to be gentle.
She had no choice but to grip the overhead handle with one hand and hold onto her seatbelt with the other, hoping they would reach the city soon.
Finally, the car came to a stop.
Unable to hold back any longer, she pushed open the door, jumped out, and rushed to a nearby tree, where she vomited.
"Ms. McClure, are you alright?" Zachary got out and approached her, offering a tissue.
Sophie took it and wiped her mouth, shaking her head weakly. "I'm fine."
