CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR Guardians of Love in Ancient Rome

It had been rather bright for some parts of Italy and especially Rome wherein early morning golden sunrays were illuminating the open-air atrium and providing the gloom of the house a bit of dramatic shade on the mosaic floor. Lily turned over in her sleep and her eyes flew open to look at the strange environment that she found herself in. Next to her, Alexander was fast asleep, the gentle rise and fall of his chest testifying to his peaceful slumber. For a moment she just looked at him, fascinated by the fact that their love could bring them to this adventure in an alien world. Looking up, as if feeling her scrutiny, Alexander came awake, a rather warm expression on his face. “Good morning, my love”, he whispered, touching her face softly with his hand. It appears that we have a new mission to accomplish. Lily agreed and sat up to take a look at their new bedroom. They woke up in a stylish Roman mansion with marble columns and walls painted with frescoes. “The Keeper certain
