The words she said about never wanting to see him again seemed to still be echoing in his ears.
The bright lights were dazzling, and the loud music was piercing.
Luke lay on the bar counter, his long fingers swirling a glass of clear liquid.
The bar was flashing with colored lights, making his eyes blur. He was slightly drunk, his eyes hazy as he watched the small drops sink into the glass of liquid.
He seemed to have done something wrong, losing someone important.
"Hey, handsome, want a drink?" A hand touched his shoulder.
Luke's brow furrowed, his voice cold, "Go away."
The woman wasn't scared, turning to sit in front of him, looking at his face, then smiling, "Are you alone? Do you want to talk?
"Keep it simple, okay? I just got back from overseas and might not get big, fancy words."
Luke felt annoyed. He impatiently lifted his head to chase the woman away but suddenly froze.
This woman had striking features, was around thirty, and was not old but mature.
