The receptionist looked at Zayn's handsome face. However, before she could admire his features, she was shocked by the icy indifference coming from him.
"Has Lindsey Juhl left the office?" Zayn tapped on the counter, pulling the thoughts of the lady in front of him back to reality.
The reception snapped back to her senses and said, "Oh, Lindsey Juhl. She left a while ago, around 4:00 pm."
In the past, she did not pay too much attention to Lindsey, but since the last incident that caused a frenzy in the city, she could not help but notice Lindsey every day when she went to and from work. They were both women, but Lindsey’s life was much better off than hers.
When Zayn heard that Lindsey had left, the air around him dropped several degrees. He did not even glance at the receptionist before heading back to the car.
"Let’s go home."
Lindsey did not wait for him to pick her up, so maybe she was still mad at him.
Zayn thought so, but a strong feeling of dread surged in his heart.
