78 Unsettling Dust
The day had been great. Anna went on with her everyday activities when she heard someone at the gate. At first, she didn’t know who it was until she moved nearer.
A man in his late fifties stood there admiring her. When he saw Anna he was quiet for five minutes until Anna spoke. She didn't understand why anyone would come and stare at her like that. She was not statute.
“Excuse me, do I know you?” Anna asked.
The man cleared his throat and then stretched his hand reaching out to hers. She was resistant but then after a few minutes, she greeted him. When she finally did, he held her hand and refused to let her go.
“I know you but I know you don’t know me. I am your father,” he said with certainty. Anna just stared at him foolishly. It was not the first time she had heard someone claiming to be her father but she had always managed to keep them off. Her life was already a movie, and she was tired and didn’t need more characters.
Anna laughed at him sarcastically.
