Chapter 35: I Don't Like You
Ethan's brow furrowed as he studied Sophia's gaze.
He hesitated momentarily but eventually lifted his hand to caress her face gently. "Next time, Sophia," he said, "As long as you don't disappear without a word again, we'll have plenty of time."
With that, he turned on his heel and left, not looking back. Brevard quickly followed him.
Outside the surveillance room, Brevard asked, "What's going on, Ethan? Where are you going? Shouldn't you be staying? Just days ago, you were worried about being unable to find Sophia, and now she's standing right before you. Weren't you determined to find a 'normal' woman? Sophia is the best choice. She's even more elegant than she was a few years ago. You two look good together."
"There's always tomorrow. Next time," was Ethan's cold response to Brevard's lengthy advice.
