When I opened my eyes. I was alone in the room. I lifted my hand to touch my cheek. I felt the salve on my cheek. I pushed myself up and looked around for a mirror.
It wasn't fair. I pushed the comforter away and quickened my feet at the full-length mirror.
All the blood drained from my face. My eyes bulged out of their sockets, "No!" I stumbled back and fell on my arse, staring at my reflection in the mirror in awe. My pulse thudded in my ears in time with my clattering heart.
"Impossible! It can't be." I stared at myself in shock. I blinked and blinked, nothing changed.
"Queen Emersyn," My gaze turned to the door.
Aubrette walked over to me and helped me to my feet holding me by the shoulders, "Your scars have healed. Wait," She said and drifted toward the side table.
She grasped the muslin cloth from the tray and returned to me.
