CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY TWO - The Enrollment Drama
Ella felt a tug on her hand and looked down to see Sophia fidgeting restlessly. "Mommy, I'm bored," she whispered loudly.
Blackwell's eyebrows rose slightly, and Ella felt a flush of embarrassment. "I'm sorry, she's not used to such long tours," she apologized.
"Perhaps we should continue to the playground," Lucas suggested smoothly. "I'm sure Sophia would love to see where the children play."
As they made their way outside, Ella's unease grew. The playground, while impressive with its modern equipment, seemed strangely quiet and orderly. A small group of children played under the watchful eyes of several supervisors, their laughter subdued.
"We pride ourselves on maintaining a structured environment, even during playtime," Blackwell explained. "Safety and order are our top priorities."
Sophia, who had been growing increasingly restless, suddenly broke free from Ella's grasp. Before anyone could react, she darted across the playground, climbing onto a slide.
