My sister's words fell on me like a heavy weight. Tears began to fall one after another, but I held on, doing my best to comfort her.
"Don't be afraid, sweetheart. I'll always be here with you. But you can't go home just yet.
"You need to stay here for treatment. When you're better, I'll go wherever you want to go with you, alright?"
I held my sister, comforting her for a long time until she finally calmed down. I watched her drift peacefully to sleep, holding the doll I had bought for her.
My heart felt like it was being twisted with a knife.
I went to the stairwell to cry out loud.
