"Is there something wrong? “Ryan furrowed his brows. He noticed that Lauretta hadn't touched her spaghetti and chicken, merely picking at them absentmindedly.
Lauretta jerked slightly, dropping her fork. "Oh... what did you just say?" she asked, her voice distant.
Ryan sighed, his concern deepening. "I was saying that I noticed some changes in Cameron lately, but..."He trailed off as Lauretta leaned closer, trying to focus on his words, her eyes clouded with worry.
"I'm sorry, Ryan," she said, her voice tinged with sadness. She clasped her hands together, her gaze pleading for understanding. "I wasn't paying attention."
"It's fine, dear. I'm just concerned about you," Ryan replied softly, reaching across the table to touch her hand.
Lauretta's thoughts kept drifting to George. She couldn't stop thinking about how devastated he must be now that he knew Maddy had betrayed him and his sister was kidnapped. The weight of it all pressed heavily on her, making it hard to stay present. S
