It was the middle of the night, and Carol couldn't sleep. She had received another email again a few hours ago, and it was beginning to get worrisome. Sitting on her bed, Carol leaned in until her back touched the bed frame. For the most part, she wondered if Lorenzo was getting the same threats as her and how he was dealing with it. This time, the message was not just to threaten her about the tape; now, they are trying to get money from her to keep it a secret. Standing up from the bed, Carol paced her bedroom, thinking of what she could do. She remembered all too well the night she and Lorenzo had been together. It had also been their last night together. She remembered the old inn they frequented during their secret relationship. Carol tried to remember, but everything was fine that previous night.
