I was not in the mood to worry about how Emily wanted to handle Alice. I just gave a small nod. "Hey, don't stress about Ash. Medicine's come a long way. He'll pull through, no doubt."
She nodded back, and I waved goodbye as I took off. I was supposed to head back to my room, but after snoozing the day away, I was not up for just lying around. Bored out of my mind, I decided to take a stroll around the hospital instead.
No sooner had I stepped out of the ward than I bumped into a familiar face—Minerva. I had not seen her since our last run-in; life had been too hectic. She looked even more worn than before. Spotting me, she seemed taken aback, her arms full of medicine. She waved from afar, "Ms. Scott."
Coming closer, she noticed my bandaged arm and paused, a look of concern crossing her face. "What happened to you?"
I grinned and told her, "Got a little nip from a critter, but it's no biggie—just a scratch. Got my shots, and I'm all patched up." I eyed the meds she was clutchin
