Chapter 704 The Old Man with a Temper
Luckily for me, with Lucas around, it feels like no one can get too close, and I could just enjoy myself, carefree.
Being pregnant did have its limits. I did not last long before I started feeling weak. Lucas, ever the gentleman, spotted a little shop by the roadside and guided me in for a break.
The shop had an old-timey vibe that did not quite mesh with the sleek Mandala look. It was decked out with vintage wooden decor and, even though it was supposed to be a craft store, there were only a handful of handmade items scattered around. Books, on the other hand, were everywhere. The place had tables and chairs, but it was like a ghost town—super quiet.
The guy running the place was this old grandpa, perched on a tiny stool by the entrance, totally absorbed in carving a piece of wood. If Lucas and I had not been the only ones there for ages, we might never have guessed he was the owner.
