I could hear the sound of birds chirping and dried leaves disentangling from their branches, but they felt far away. I tried to open my eyes, but they fluttered weakly, causing me to feel blinded.
"Does something bind me?" I thought, panic rushing through my veins as I considered the possibility. However, I was unable to feel my wolf powers. I smelled the air, and I knew I was still in the woods.
"Ahh," I groaned. Finally, prying my eyes open. Pain silently laced my entire body like a web. As the light rays from the sun threatened to blind them, I quickly snapped them shut. I was sitting shirtless on the bare wood floor. My back rests on a fallen tree.
"You're awake." I heard a voice sound inches from my face as my eyes tried to get acquainted with the sunlight.
"Merideth?" I groaned.
Slowly prying my eyes. Her face was a few inches from mine, and her hands were on my chest. Her blue eyes peered into mine as though searching my soul.
