I was lost in deep sleep, my mind and body exhausted from the long days of planning and training. I was lying in a field, feeling the warmth of someone beside me.
"Dominic." The person said her laugh was filling the air and travelling with the wind.
I felt at ease and happy. She kissed my cheeks, her hair blocking my site. She smelled like lavender, a familiar scent.
"Dominic." She said it again. Her voice sounded so familiar yet so distant.
She adjusted to a sitting position, finally letting me see her face. Her scent and voice weren't just familiar; I knew her.
"Minerva." I breathed. "What are you doing here? What's going on?"
Her smile fell. "Dominic, you have to wake up."
I could hear the sounds of distant screams and snarls getting closer. I looked around, but I couldn't see where exactly it was coming from.
"Dominic, I said you have to wake up!" Minerva said, her tone harsh. She stood up and kissed my forehead. "I love you."
