The air around the council hall was tense when the newsreader arrived with his urgent message. The man, panting and covered in dust, collapsed at the feet of the governor, his words tumbling out in a frantic rush.
"Attack... witches... imminent," he gasped, clutching his side. The shirt he had on was damp with sweat.
