Chapter 82: An Odd Interrogation
The striking resemblance between Xander and Levi was enough to make Owen’s stomach churn in displeasure. Anyone who saw the boy could easily tell who his father was, and he wondered how on earth someone hadn’t seen the boy and told Levi. Or did Levi simply not want the child?
Sure, the child was Eleanor’s, but whenever Owen looked at him, it made him boil in anger because of who his father was. He wasn’t sure a day would come when he could ever actually like the boy. Maybe he could have if Levi had been completely eliminated from their lives.
Today was no different. As Owen led the boy through the park, he felt a deep-seated hatred for his father, and it extended to the boy. At first, he’d been holding Xander’s small, chubby arm, but when the hate got too much, he let go and said, “Xander, you’re a big boy, right? You don’t need your hand to be held.”
Xander, always eager to prove that he was capable, nodded eagerly. “I’m a big boy, Uncle Owen. But Mommy doesn’t want to see it.” Xan
