Levi, more flustered than ever, let out a deep sigh. He leaned forward from his chair, his elbows resting on the table, his entwined fingers masking his face, exposing the paleness in his green eyes. The most difficult battle to fight was with the one within. It could have been easier if an outsider was the culprit of this theft, but thinking that one of his people could be the mastermind was far more daunting.
He exhaled again, lowering his hands from his face. A fierce and relentless gaze briskly ascended from his eyes upon Philip, who seemed to be awaiting the next instruction. “Do your best to keep track of every possible lead,” he said with a slight but firm nod.
“There have to be some loose ends; find them.” He seemed certain of his thoughts. “I don’t believe whoever is behind this could have swept his path clean without any trace,” he added, hiding his fears and confusion behind his bold demeanor.
