Chapter 52 Amends
Eleanor walked into the meeting room, Levi already seated at the table. He looked better than the last time she had seen him. However, he had plaster on the side of his neck. She stared at him, at the place, intently.
She took a deep breath.
"Hey, Levi," she said, taking a seat across from him.
"It's nothing, Eleanor, just a little accident."
"I wasn't..."
Levi nodded, his expression serious. "Yes, you were. It's alright, Eleanor. Thanks for meeting with me. I know you have been...hesitant about the project."
Eleanor felt a little bit embarrassed, but she recovered quickly. Then, another question formed in her mind.
Eleanor's eyes lingered on the plaster for a moment before she looked up at Levi's face. "A little accident, huh? You're not exactly the clumsy type, Levi."
Levi chuckled. He didn't know whether to be glad that his ex-wife still remembered his tendencies. Or not.
"Let's just say I had a run-in with a doorframe. It was a draw, actually. The doorframe won."
