Charles stood before her, clearly unharmed. Yet, Alicia couldn't help but ask about the bloodstained shirt she had seen. It seemed something unpleasant had happened between him and Linda the night before.
Following her gaze to the shirt, Charles began to explain the incident with Linda. Hearing that Linda had gone to such lengths to keep Charles with her filled Alicia with a sense of melancholy. She was troubled, wondering if their relationship had deteriorated to such an extent. Regardless, Alicia believed Linda's actions were far from simple—trying to injure herself to hold onto Charles was beyond comprehension.
She moved to prepare dinner, skillfully taking a top-grade steak from the fridge. After five years of marriage, Alicia had become quite adept at cooking.
As she cooked, Charles spoke up, "I wanted to mention that our company has several art teams looking for artists. If you’re interested, you could work there."
