Charles looked down at the locked door, a cold smile curling at the corner of his mouth. He remembered that when he bought this house, he had made a spare key, and now it was finally coming in handy.
He took the spare key from his study and inserted it into Alicia's door lock.
With a gentle twist, the door opened.
Alicia, who had been happily humming to herself in bed, was stunned into silence when she saw Charles barge in. She buried herself under the covers, using them to shield her small face, with only her big, watery eyes peeking out as she stared at him.
Although she was a bit frightened about what Charles might do next, she bravely asked him, “What do you want?”
