Chapter 8 He Doesn't Like Women Approaching Him
Rosa suddenly walked over and wanted to slap Olivia.
However, she was stopped by Oliver.
Rosa's face was full of displeasure as she said, "Olivia, Oliver and I are about to be engaged. How dare you still flirt with him? You're shameless."
Oliver separated the two and looked at Rosa while asking, "Rosa, what's going on? How could you resort to violence?"
Oliver had always thought of Rosa as a gentle and kind-hearted girl.
Rosa, with red eyes, tightly clutched Oliver's clothes and whispered, "Oliver, I didn't want it to be like this, but I'm really scared. I'm afraid you'll leave me."
Upon hearing this, Oliver's heart softened, and he quickly comforted her, "Rosa, don't overthink it. Nothing is going on between me and Olivia."
Olivia couldn't help but roll her eyes as she left.
She entered the private room and walked quietly to Alex's side before sitting down next to him.
Alex couldn't help but look at her approvingly.
He glanced at everyone and then said, "Oliver's parents are abroad, so I have the final say in his marriage. Is everyone okay with that?"
Toby quickly spoke up, "We'll follow your decision."
Nancy said, "Since Mr. Tres is handling it, of, course, we have no problem with that.”

The Hall family members praised Alex repeatedly.
Olivia couldn’t help but despise them.
Then, Alex lifted his glass and said to Olivia, "Miss Olivia, let's have a toast for your sister's engagement."
Olivia hesitated for a moment, then picked up her glass. However, Alex suddenly whispered in her ear, "Miss Olivia, do you have a boyfriend?"
Olivia was startled by his question, causing her hand to tremble, and the wine in the glass spilled onto Alex's shirt, staining it red.
"I'm sorry," Olivia hurriedly apologized, putting down the glass, feeling flustered.
On the other side, the Hall family members were frightened and afraid of offending Alex.
If they did, not only would the engagement be called off, but the Hall family might lose its place in Kingsley.
"What's wrong with you, Olivia? Do you not even know how to hold a glass properly?" Toby asked displeased.
Alex looked at Olivia and said in a low voice, "It's fine.”
The others looked at each other in surprise.
They had expected a storm, but it seemed that Alex wasn't angry.
Rosa stood up and walked over to Alex with a smile. "Mr. Tres, why don't I toast you instead?"
"Get lost," Alex said coldly.
Rosa was so scared that her face turned pale, and she took two steps back.
"You'd better focus on Oliver," Alex said with a cold tone.
Rosa stood still in shock, unable to move.
In the end, it was Oliver who couldn't bear to see her like this and pulled her over.
With tearful eyes, she looked at Oliver, full of grievances.
Oliver whispered to her, "My uncle is always like this. He never likes women getting close to him."
"Okay," Rosa responded weakly, clutching her clothes tightly while seething with jealousy.
She thought, ‘Isn’t Olivia a woman too? How can she sit next to Alex?’
"I need to go to the bathroom. I’ll be back in a moment," Olivia whispered to Alex before she got up and left.
Watching her leave, Alex's lips curved slightly.
Ted followed Olivia out of the room.

At that moment, Toby suddenly said, "Mr. Tres, I have a request that may be a bit inappropriate. Rosa is about to graduate from university. Could you arrange a position at the Adams Corporation for her?”
Hearing this, Oliver also chimed in, "Alex, please."
Alex directly responded, "Adams Corporation's recruitment process is very strict. It's not a place where anyone can enter just because they want to."
Rosa felt a pang of disappointment.
She thought, ‘It’s fine that he doesn’t want me to join his company, but he doesn’t have to put it that way.”
With a pale face, she bit her lip tightly, but in the end, she didn't say anything.
Meanwhile, as Olivia entered the restroom, she was suddenly embraced from behind by a pair of powerful hands. She thought it was Alex following her out.
But when she turned around, she saw that it was Ted.
An uneasy feeling crept into Olivia's heart.
Ted had been trying to harass her ever since he came to the Hall family. Whenever she was at home, she made sure to lock her door.
"Olivia, do you need money?" Ted whispered in her ear.
Olivia pushed him away abruptly, her expression displeased. "If you keep doing this, I'll call the police. I don’t care if this will influence my reputation."
However, Ted held her firmly in his arms, ignoring her struggles. His eyes were filled with possessiveness as he whispered, "Be with me, and all my money will be yours. What do you think?"
He leaned in to kiss her with a lewd expression on his face.
Olivia hurriedly said, “What are you doing? Don’t come near me!”
She shook her head vigorously to dodge his kiss, her eyes turning red with tears.
Ted grabbed her chin to prevent her from moving. He tore open her collar and intended to kiss her forcibly.
Despair filled Olivia's heart as she closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable.
But after a while, when she didn't feel any kiss, she opened her eyes and saw Alex restraining Ted with force.
Olivia sat down on the ground after she felt relieved while tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Mr. Tres... why are you here? I was just joking with Olivia, please don’t…”
Before Ted finished his sentence, he suddenly screamed out of pain.
Olivia looked up with her hands tightly hugging her chest. Under the light, she saw the tall Alex walk up to her and extend a hand to her.
She took his hand and stood up.
"Are you okay?" Alex asked with concern.
Olivia quickly adjusted her clothes, her eyes red. She shook her head and said, "I'm fine, thank you."
Her wrist was still red from being grabbed forcefully, and her hair was messy. It was clear that she had struggled.
Alex frowned and thought that any man would feel that they wanted to protect this girl after seeing the way she looked.
After they returned to the table, Ted had a swollen face on one side. Nancy couldn't help but ask, "Ted, what happened to your face?"
Ted did not dare to tell the truth. He touched his face while saying, "Mom, I slipped and fell in the restroom just now."
Oliver, who didn't know what had happened, couldn't help but interject, "Ted, that doesn't look like it was caused by a fall. Did someone hit you?"
Rosa looked at Olivia and Alex with confusion. She felt like there was something going on.
During lunch, the two families agreed to hold the wedding the following Saturday.
After the meal, Olivia took a taxi back to her school.
Right after she entered her dorm, she received a text message from Alex. [You don’t have to see me for the next couple of days. Enjoy your break.]
