Chapter 123: Fleeing Thoughts
In the dimly lit room, Giselle fixated on the food before her, feeling not even the slightest urge to eat.
Nathan had dragged her to this desolate place, but Giselle wasn’t one to sit back and wait for doom—she was desperate to find a way to reach out to the world.
She spent the entire afternoon hidden in her room, feigning sleep while her mind raced with plans of escape.
Night falls quickly on the island, plunging everything into utter darkness, pierced only by the relentless roar of the waves.
Giselle tiptoed from her bed and navigated her way to the exterior of Nathan’s room. The house, constantly battered by the sea winds, had a door that barely hung on its hinges, ajar and inviting.
She cautiously pushed open the neighboring door; it creaked loudly, freezing her in place. Once confident that Nathan remained asleep, she stealthily moved forward.
She knew Nathan had been using his smartphone earlier that day.
Taking advantage of his deep slumber, Giselle frantically searched
