Chapter 112: Death of a Horse
Giselle clutched at Henry’s hand in a moment of pure terror, shooting Megan a frantic look.
Caught by surprise, Megan froze momentarily before collapsing in a faint.
Twisting around, Giselle’s gaze turned icy as she faced the man behind her. A shiver of dread traveled from her feet to her crown, more intense than ever before.
Henry peeled her fingers off slowly and delved into his suit’s inner pocket with deliberate calm, pulling out a lighter and sparking up a cigarette at his lips.
The shock on Giselle’s face morphed slowly into anger.
A deep chuckle rumbled through Henry’s nostrils, his eyes glinting with a mischievous gleam.
Ready to jump off the horse in her fury, Giselle was swiftly caught by his strong hand, and they continued their silent battle atop the moving horse.
Giselle turned and glared at him fiercely. “Is playing me really that amusing to you?”
“How have I played you?”
Henry allowed her to glare at him unimpeded.
His response left her momentarily speechless,
