Chapter 32 Sherman's Sister
As the car decelerated, Sherman lifted his gaze from the papers in his grasp. His eyes betrayed a mixture of sentiments, and he heaved a soft sigh. Elaine, sensing Sherman's unease, followed his line of sight out the window. A towering, immaculately white edifice loomed in front of them, appearing grand and imposing.
"Mr. Holmes, we've arrived at the palace," the driver remarked.
The car came to a halt, and the driver turned to face them with a cordial smile before promptly alighting from the vehicle to open Sherman's door.
As Elaine peered through the massive archway, she noticed a cluster of elegantly attired individuals rushing towards them. Several other cars gradually pulled up beside them.
An inexplicable apprehension gripped Elaine's heart, perhaps owing to the unfamiliarity of her surroundings.
