So what if Jaxson owned a manor?
What was the big deal?
He could easily afford a manor himself, but he was frugal and did not see the point in wasting money on such frivolous things. It was just a house, right? He could live anywhere. Did it have to be a manor?
Even though he was green with envy, deep down, he could not help but look down on Jaxson.
After giving Jaxson a good mental dressing-down, Augustus challenged, "You've got a tennis court here, don't you? Let's hit the court for a game of tennis."
Augustus had thrown down the gauntlet because he had played in amateur tennis tournaments while abroad. He was not a pro, but he could hold his own among the amateurs.
Jaxson, on the other hand, was a total desk jockey. No matter how skilled he might be, he could not hold a candle to Augustus.
Jaxson agreed without a word and, after slipping into his tennis whites, led an adult and a child to the court.
They were all set for a showdown.
