CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY ONE - Flight of Fractures
The morning sun peeked through the curtains of Claire and Mason's bedroom, casting a warm glow on their faces. Claire stirred, her eyes fluttering open to the sight of Mason already awake, cradling their six-month-old son, Henry.
"Good morning, beautiful," Mason whispered, careful not to disturb the sleeping baby. "Ready for your big day?"
Claire sat up, running a hand through her tousled hair. "As ready as I'll ever be," she replied, her voice a mix of excitement and apprehension. "I can't believe I'm leaving you two for a whole week."
Mason leaned in, planting a soft kiss on her forehead. "We'll be fine. Henry and I have some serious father-son bonding planned. Right, little man?" He gently bounced Henry, who cooed in response.
Claire's heart melted at the sight. She reached out, running her finger along Henry's chubby cheek. "I'm going to miss you both so much."
