CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SEVEN - The Operation
Robert arrived at the safe house later that afternoon, his face showing signs of exhaustion but also triumph. He carried with him a thick folder, which he placed on the coffee table in front of Claire and Mason.
"This is it," he said, his voice filled with a mix of pride and relief. "The full report of our investigation, including your statement and the evidence from the sting operation. It's all here, Claire. Your name has been officially cleared."
Claire reached out with trembling hands to touch the folder. It seemed impossible that this stack of papers could represent the culmination of months of fear, stress, and uncertainty. She looked up at Robert, her eyes brimming with tears of gratitude.
"Thank you," she said softly. "For believing in me, for not giving up."
Robert smiled warmly. "You're the one who never gave up, Claire. Your determination to uncover the truth, even at great personal risk, is what made this possible."
