I headed back downstairs, feeling a bit more relaxed now that Frankie seemed to be on the mend. Justin was in the living room, pacing a little with a thoughtful expression. When he saw me, he came over with a grateful smile.
“Hey, thanks for taking care of Frankie like that,” he said, giving me a quick hug. “I really appreciate it. I don’t know what I’d have done without your help.”
“It was the least I could do,” I replied, giving him a reassuring pat on the back. “I’m just glad I could help out.”
Justin glanced at me, looking a bit uncertain. “So, are you planning to head to work today, or…?”
I shook my head. “No, I think I’ll stick around and help you out. Last night was hectic, and I’d rather be here for you and Frankie. Plus, it’ll give me a chance to make sure you’re both okay.”
“Thanks,” Justin said, looking visibly relieved. “I don’t know how I’d manage everything on my own today.”
