Chapter 463
Upon hearing Grace's comment, Oliver figured he had to prove his strength for her to be convinced.
"Don't cry," he said.
Grace's mind drifted to certain late-night memories, and she shrugged in fear. "I'm off to shower," she blurted.
As she wrapped herself in the blanket and headed toward the bathroom, Oliver playfully yanked it away, leaving her scrambling. She dashed into the bathroom as if a bolt of lightning, staying out of reach in case his morning enthusiasm got the best of him.
Oliver easily saw through her plan, a gentle affection lighting up his face as he chuckled. "I've really met my match," he sighed.
And his match was now in the shower.
Knowing Grace had sobered up, Oliver knocked on the bathroom door and called, "I'll be in the study. If you get bored, come find me."
"Sure, darling. Oh, and let the kitchen know that I'm starving!" she called back.
Smiling, he left the room, passing her request to the housekeeper before summoning James to the study.
