I had been furious, betrayal trailing through my veins. I thought I had made progress with Adeline, I thought she was ready to be my mate. I knew that I had scared her when she clenched the pillow so close against her chest. When I heard her confession, my heart dropped and I felt guilty for not asking before I reacted so harshly.
