I stand on the wooden deck in front of the cabin with my hands settled on my hips as I watch Alpha Jaxon’s men shuffle inside and lug our bags out into the black trucks. I had searched the entire cabin multiple times and still, the notebooks have not surfaced. I can’t stop the feeling of dread that’s piling in the pit of my stomach knowing that I would probably not see those notebooks again. I sigh and feel Sophia drape an arm over my shoulders, “really? This was necessary?”, she says and rolls her eyes dramatically as we watch the enforcers pass by us and roam into the cabin.
