I smiled when Ryan slipped his hands into mine as we walked out of the school courtyard later that day. The stares the other students gave me were starting to be familiar and they no longer bothered me. They could stare at me for as long as they wanted and I didn't care. As long as I got to be with Ryan, I could endure anything.
"Let's go home." Ryan smiled as he looked at me.
"Aren't we going to my house?" I asked him. "How is it your house?"
He snorted. "Anywhere you are is home to me."
I smiled. "You know you can take a class on these lines you keep throwing out. Maybe write a book to help the fates of other boys." I suggested.
He chuckled. "Maybe I can if you decide to sponsor me. Will you be my investor?"
"Haven't I invested in your heart already?" I asked, wagging my eyebrows at him.
He chuckled. "Damn, it seems like you are good as well."
I chuckled. "What can I say? It seems like you've rubbed off on me."
"As I should." He grinned.
