Chapter 29 The Exposed Half-secret

I walked into the school and winced as people stared at me. I felt uncomfortable, wishing that they would stop and walked quickly so I could get to my class soon.
They had been staring at me ever since it had been announced that I was going to represent my class on the founder's day and Mia had had a showdown with Miss Patricia.
I sighed, wondering what the hype about the founder's day was and why Mia was so worked up on it.
"Is that her?" I overheard a girl asking her friend walking beside her and pointing at me.
"Yes." The other girl nodded.
"Unfortunate." The girl sighed and shook her head as they both walked away.
I frowned, wondering what that was for. That didn't seem like they had shaken their heads at me because I was going to read a speech on the founder's day.
More of the students kept staring at me as they walked past me with different emotions in their eyes—some with pity, disgust, annoyance and hatred—and I quickly ran to my class.
