I sat alone in my bedroom, playing games on my phone. My attention wasn't in the game and I didn't know if I was losing or winning but I was glad that I had something to focus on instead of the revelation that dad had thrown on me this morning.

Everything sounded like fiction, like an excellently directed crime drama. I didn't think that I was ever going to stop thinking about it. I didn't want to believe what dad had said but I knew that he wasn't going to lie to me. Even if he wanted me to move on, he wasn't someone who was going to do that by distorting the facts.
I groaned, hating how confusing everything was and how it felt like my head was on fire.
"What are you doing?" Adam asked as he walked into my bedroom.
I sighed, hating the interruption. I hated more how I was lost in thoughts and didn't know when he entered. I needed to be more mindful of my environment. I needed to remember that.
