Chapter 2 Handsome Stranger
Staring back at me is the most devilishly handsome man I have ever seen in my life. The deepest brown of brown eyes is piercing right into my soul, making my legs go weak in an instant. That cocky smile that is creeping around the corners of his mouth is nearly enough to send sensations of pleasure throughout my body, waking feelings that I have not felt for so long now. This handsome stranger is driving my body crazy by just that simple look.?
His perfect messed up brown hair is slightly blowing in the late afternoon breeze, and with that, the scent of his cologne attacks my senses, softwood and a hint of spice. If I have never seen a god, then there is one that is clearly standing over me.
And the minute he speaks, I feel that I have died and gone to heaven, "You are in the middle of nowhere; there is not much creeping I can do."
"What are you doing out in the middle of nowhere scaring helpless woman anyway?" My words leave my mouth with a shaky breath, not from being breathless but being taking away from his clear beauty, and much to my embarrassment, my cheeks start to go the perfect rose color red.
"I can ask you the same thing, what the hell are you doing out here?" His eyes run over my body, and I can see amusement build in his smile. "I never thought I would see the day that I find a clearly lost woman in a wedding dress in the back seat of a car singing to Britney Spears."
"I am glad you see my dire situation amusing."
"What I would find amusing is you in that dress with stilettos walking down the road hitchhiking. I will pay to see that."
He chuckles to himself as the words leave those supple lips, this man knows he's hot, but now he is just plain an asshole.
"Oh my god, I don't even know you, but I hate you already."
"I am flattered that you have a stir of emotion for me."
"The only stir of emotion you are getting is a punch in the face."
"You did not answer me," he stops to ask me again. "What are you doing out here?"
"I ran out of gas...deliberately."
He looks at me somewhat strangely, well I am already looking strange to him, but I think I have just leveled one up.
"How do you even do that, run out of gas deliberately?"
"You drive until you run out of gas."
"Why would you even want to do that?"
"I wanted to get stuck in the middle of nowhere."
"You get even weirder by the minute," he bursts out in such a roaring laughter that he nearly falls on that damn tight ass.
"I am not weird; I am determined."
"Your idea of determination is a bit off and downright scary."
"Are you always so pleasant towards strangers that you meet?"
"Only when they intrigue me."
"And what is possibly so intriguing about me?" I ask, knowing full well where this conversation is heading.
"First, your taste in clothing. Did you get lost on your way to church?"
"No! I just went in a different direction as the groom."
"Remind me never to marry you."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You have run awfully far to get away from him."
"You can be glad I struggle to walk in this dress."
"Is that why you in the back seat singing to Britney?" Then he adds. "You have an awful taste in clothing and an even worse taste in music."
"Are you going to stand there and give me shit, or are you going to help me?"
"I can take you to town, but I can't tow your car. I can send for someone from town to do it, but it won't happen today."?
"That is fine, thank you."
"I can't wait to see the town folks' faces when they see you parading in there with your wedding dress."
"You are such an asshole."
The drive to town is even further than I thought it would be. Glad I did not decide to walk; I would have passed out not even a tenth of the way in. I don't know if it is luck or pure bad fate that he is the one that found me. He is clearly rude and too full of himself. The only thing that counts in his favor is that he is hotter than hell.
"Is there any particular reason that you are staring at me that way?" he asks with that wicked smile.
"I am not staring at you."
"So where are your eyes directed then?"
"At your jaw."
"Then, that is staring."
"Oh my god, you are impossible."
We pull into a town that I have never heard of in my life before, let alone know how to say it. It looks quiet and quite peaceful. It is not a town with many people; it does look like a town, though, where every neighbor knows your name and more frightening they know every move you make.
Well, this is sort of where my car run out of gas; I guess that this place with the weird name shall be my home then.
"You need to lose that dress," he says as he points at my wedding dress.
"Why does everyone want me to get out my dress?"
"Because in the middle of nowhere to a bunch of strangers, you look completely ridiculous."
"I am not ridiculous."
He stares at me for a fraction of a minute too long; I would love to know what is running through that mind of his.
"Are you always so difficult?"
"Yes."
"You can drive any man insane."
"Is the rest of the town also so friendly?"?
"If I had a sock, I would stick it in your mouth."
"From creepy to rude to violent, you must be quite the catch."
Then just like that, his playful side completely shuts off. That gorgeous smile and the brightness of his eyes have faded away. And even when he speaks, there is a coldness in his voice now.
"I will drop you off at the Bed and Breakfast; Miss Wilson can show you around."
"Are you tired of me now?"
"No, there is just no way am I going to do dress shopping with a complete stranger in stilettos and a wedding dress."
After dropping me off and introducing me to Miss Wilson, the handsome stranger that saved my sorry ass turns to leave.
"Thank you for helping me," I look at him shyly from underneath my lashes.
"It was quite a pleasure."
"I don't even know your name?" I look at him as he gets into his truck.
"It is Tyler."
