She closed her eyes, the tiny fragments forming a whole, replaying like it was only yesterday.
"I should have listened to your sister when she told me you would be worthless," Lucius snarled, his voice laced with frustration and malice.
Cassandra stood near the window, her gaze fixed on the distant horizon, refusing to acknowledge his presence or the venom in his words.
"I am warning you, Cassandra. Whatever vile thing you have done, you had better undo it. If I do not have a pup in you by the next full moon, then you will be of no use to me."
