Ryan patted Sherry's face and said, "Alright, don't be angry now! Let's get out of here!"
She slapped his hand away and climbed out of the cellar herself. After Ryan grabbed some food, he climbed out and put the cover back in place.
A cool breeze swept through the woods, slowly chasing away the heat from Sherry's body.
"Forget it. Since you helped me catch my horse as well, I guess we're even after you've helped her. But you can't help her again, or I swear I won't speak to you ever again!"
Ryan smirked, grabbing her chin. "Do you really think you could do that?"
Sherry fumed but held her tongue, knowing he'd make her suffer if she pushed too far.
"Enough of that," Ryan said. "There's something else. I haven't seen any more wild horses or food around. I wonder how Nina's doing. We need to think of something fast."
From what Ryan had gathered, Nina hadn't found much beyond the horse she caught. A draw would be ideal—no slaps, no one would have to lose.
