CHAPTER 35 ARE YOU INJURED?
SABRINA'S POV
I woke up feeling a bit groggy, the remnants of a dream about Jared still lingering in my mind. After a quick breakfast, I headed to the study to start my work. The study was always one of the hardest rooms to clean—so many books, so many nooks and crannies.
But today, I felt particularly tired. My previous workload had been heavy, and the exhaustion was starting to take its toll on me. But I didn’t mind. If it meant being close to Jared, I would do it willingly.
When I entered the study, Jared was already there, working behind his desk with that familiar, cold focus. I took a moment to gather myself before knocking gently on the doorframe. “Good morning, Mr. Jared,” I said, trying to sound as cheerful as I could manage despite my fatigue.
He glanced up briefly, his eyes cold and impassive as usual. “Humm, morning, Sabrina. The study needs to be cleaned. I expect it to be spotless.”
“Yes, sir,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady even though it wavered slightly
