CHAPTER 128: PUSH THE BLAME GAME
MISSY POV
I was pacing to and fro in the sitting room, checking my phone in just a second interval. I was expecting a call, some calls, and they are taking a lot of time to show up, and it's getting me frustrated and really anxious. My eyes caught Mom walking downstairs, so I just sat on the couch trying to relax when I also knew that's impossible at the moment.
She walked up to me and sat on the couch in front of me, sitting so very close to me.
"Darling, what's wrong? You are panicking. Is anything the problem?" Mom asked, and I quickly put on a smile; that's what she just needs.
"Mom, I'm fine, nothing much," I said, but my voice failed me; it's obvious I was anxious.
"You can't lie to me, Missy; you've been like this since yesterday; you might not know, but I've been noticing that. I know you, Missy, so just spill it out," Mom said, and I sighed. Maybe I can use this to turn things around. I can't let Mom believe what everybody is saying right now; I have to do something!!
