Chapter 51

God, what happened to me? I wake up crying and in pain. My entire body hurts but especially, it feels like my head is about to break in half. I open my eyes but it’s still dark. It takes a while before I realize that I’m blindfolded with a nasty piece of fabric. I remember what happened in the train and I can’t do anything other than cry in distress. Who were those men? Clearly, it wasn’t just fate that brought them inside my train. They were there for me. Why did I think it would be a good idea to leave the mansion? I don’t have to search far to know who landed me in this position: Hector. He’s the only one who knew I would be moving and he somehow told those men who attacked me. But why? I can’t think of single reason why he’d hurt me like this unless...Maybe he’s been working against the Whitlock family all this time? I try to stand on my feet but they are weak, wobbly and painful.
