"You're not a little kid, you're a little fox," Ivy said.
Jayden patted her shoulder. "Since we're here, let's make the best of it. I'll apologize to Mommy later."
Ivy felt like crying. It was frustrating to be outwitted by a child, especially when she couldn't just send him back alone. Though she thought he'd be safe flying back by himself, it wasn't a choice she wanted to make.
"Stay put here while I call Liss. Otherwise, she and Mindy will be worried about you."
"Don't worry, I left a note for Nan, telling her I'm with you," Jayden replied.
"You little fox!"
She picked up her phone and called Alyssa. Meanwhile, Alyssa was on the balcony with a cup of hot water when she answered the call.
"Hello, Ivy."
Ivy looked nervously at the little figure beside her. "Liss, I wanted to surprise you, but..."
Alyssa was puzzled. "What's wrong?"
