CHAPTER 90: A FAMILY DECISION
Samantha sat at the edge of the dining table, her hands anchored on it as she hunched over. "This is twice; you're refusing me this offer, Jack. After all these years!"
Jake, who sat at the opposite end of the table, cut a piece of steak and pushed it into his mouth. He chewed and grimaced for a moment before glancing up to meet Samantha's gaze. He then hand-picked a half-filled wine glass on the table.
"You don't seem to get the point, Samantha." He began. "I've grown to have you by my side, love. I went to the lengths I regret to have that done, and somehow, you still found a way to forgive me and handed over that pleasure to me. Now, because of some worthless business, you want to break that bond."
"It's only goi be for a few weeks!" Samantha persuaded. "A few weeks is all I ask. I have to give this cooperation my final answer in three days. I only need your endorsement."
