“You look so distraught. Are you good?" Gia asked Jake for the umpteenth time since he had arrived at her place.
“I'm good. Were you saying something? I kind of zoned out." Even his voice was unstable. His mind seemed far away, and it was written all over his face.
“You know you can talk to me, right?" Gia asked him with a look of concern on her face.
If anything, she knows Jake mostly does not care about other people, a lot of people, actually. And for him to be this bothered, it just means that it's something personal.
“It's nothing you have to worry yourself about; I'll be fine in no time. Where were we?" He brushed off the topic once more.
She forced herself not to ask him again since he said it was nothing, but she made a mental note to still find out about it.
“Yeah, I was saying that when I was jogging earlier today, some guy stopped me." That confused look on her face went away immediately; she was now smiling.
